Program for Lithgow Halloween 2017

START YOUR HALLOWEEN ADVENTURE HERE

Step into our abandoned circus if you dare!

Be entertained by the antics of spooky ghouls and characters with roving performers like Trickstar, Fly By Fun, Zany-Yare and Lithgow Living History. Ringmaster MC Timothy Hyde will wrangle the hoards through the day’s activities.

Mystery market stalls will run from 2pm – 9pm, there are thrill rides and children’s activities from 3pm, and businesses will trade in the streets to tempt you with devilish delights.

You will find the Information point in Cook Street Plaza or look for our friendly event staff in orange.

Youth Stage   2.30 – 5.30pm

Catch emerging talent on the Youth Stage with local acts by Braden, La Belle School of Dance, Sally Anne’s School of Dance, Lithgow Dance Academy and Swell Triplex. Our Media Partner MoveFM will be broadcast live from the stage

Ghost Train   4.30 – 6.10pm

Travel on the special Ghost Train through the spooky 10 Tunnels. Bookings are essential, contact Lachlan Valley Railway 6342 4999 

Trick or Treat   5pm

Get your trick or treat goodie bags ready - Australia’s biggest trick or treat is here! Explore Main Street for all the participating stores.

DJ Stage   6.00 – 10.00pm

The DJ Stage will bring you dance music until late with sets by Kid Low, Wubble and Haizee playing outside a spooky historic mansion

Street Parade   6.10pm

Join the street parade of colourful characters led by drumming band Samba Trombada, leaving from Lithgow Library near Bank Lane taking you up to Main Stage in time for the Best Dressed Costume Competition

Main Stage   From 6.30pm

The official welcome will kick off the much anticipated Best Dressed Costume Competition

Want to enter the Best Dressed Costume Competition? Be in Main Street between 4 – 6pm Sat 28 Oct to get noticed by special guest judges from Gallery Serpentine! If you’re handed a ‘finalist ticket’ then you have aced your costume and will be called to the Main Stage for final judging. Fantastic prizes to be won!

As well as magic by Trickstar at 8.30pm, Main Stage will come alive throughout the night with sets by Australian Played entertaining the crowd with Australian rock music through the decades including AC/DC, INXS, The Angels and many more.

LithgowSkulls   7.15pm

This iconic event returns with over 50 artists transforming skull sculptures into unique works of art to be auctioned live at Lithgow Library. The skulls will be on exhibition at the Library from 13th October.

Telstra Cinema   7.45pm

Watch a screening of Goosebumps under the moonlight with Telstra’s outdoor cinema in Cook Street Plaza. Goosebumps is the tale of a teenager who teams up with the daughter of young adult horror author R.L. Stein after the writers imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware. Rated PG.

Exhibition opening - Fallen Idols II

Through a series of digital works artist Rich Evans responds to the loss of music icons to suicide throughout 2017, particularly Chris Cornell a musician that influenced Evans throughout his teens. Exhibition continues until 10th November.

Illusionist Show

Stu Robinson, Australia’s Foremost Gospel illusionist will be performing at St Paul’s Anglican  Church.

The Radiators featuring Momentum
If you can’t get enough of Australian Played on the Main Stage, then kick on with another classic Aussie rock band, The Radiators, appearing Live in The Showroom at The Workies for one night only. Featuring popular local duo, Momentum. Get in early and secure your tickets before they sell out!

Back to Hartley

Back to Hartley will be another day of family fun and entertainment – including a petting zoo, local performance groups, historical re-enactments, a fashion show, markets and lots more.

Cost:             $5 per car – monies raised goes towards the Lithgow Highland Band

Museums Sunday

Pick up a Museums Pass from the Visitor Information Centre and get access to Lithgow’s museums FREE! Visit the Small Arms Factory Museum to learn about the people and production behind an innovative factory. See how people may have lived in early Victorian times at the historic Eskbank House and Museum. Take Myne rides or witness blacksmith demonstrations at the Lithgow State Mine Heritage Park.
